Surfacestheory was born from a shared passion for transforming ordinary surfaces into powerful visual statements.Our company unites four scenic artists — Pavel Pesta, Brad Benischek, Paul Giglione, and Taylor Weeks. The studio brings together more than four decades of combined experience across film, television, high-end residential and commercial projects, and large-scale special events.

Pavel Pesta is a scenic artist, painter, and plasterer with over 22 years of experience in film and television. Originally trained in graphic design, Pavel has led paint departments on major TV and film productions since 2010, including serving as Charge Scenic on NCIS: New Orleans. His work spans scenic art, murals, plaster textures, faux finishes, sculpting, and signage applied across film sets, interiors, and high-end event environments. With a refined sense of material, texture, and atmosphere, Pavel brings artistic depth and precision to every surface.

Paul Giglione With over 20 years of experience in residential, commercial, and film/television painting, He brings craftsmanship, efficiency, and adaptability to every project. He attended Parsons School of Design in New York and received his MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. For the last 30 years he has been raising a family, working and showing art in New Orleans.

Taylor Weeks is an accomplished scenic painter with over 15 years experience. She began her journey on the reality show Survivor, and then joined the film union and crews in New Orleans. Her skills in creating immersive and visually stunning environments have been displayed on a wide range of projects, including feature films, tv shows, and live events. Her ability to bring concepts to life through color, texture, and visual effects has consistently received praise from clients and colleagues alike.
She has also been honing her expertise for wallpaper installation, where she has transformed countless spaces for residential and commercial clients.
